In recent years, there has been an escalating concern about the security risks posed by malicious AI. In response, experts have argued that the most potent defence against AI is, paradoxically, more AI. This potential turning point echoes back to the groundbreaking discovery of nuclear fission, termed then as the ‘Oppenheimer moment’. nnThe new era presents a scenario where AI systems are engaged in a high-stakes chess match, defending against potential AI-driven cyberattacks. As such, we find ourselves teetering on the brink of an unprecedented revolution in technology and cyber defence, much like physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer in 1942 after the invention of the atomic bomb. nn As we inch closer to replicating human intellect, the implications remain complex.
